ABOUT US

Buildback Consulting was established in 2020 by Darren Yates, with the aim of providing independent property market research and analysis at a time of rapid change in our urban landscape.

 

Darren has over 25 years experience in UK and international property market analysis, with much of his career focused on the retail and leisure sectors.

 

He has worked for several leading property services providers, including Knight Frank and Carter Jonas, in addition to two spells at Cushman & Wakefield where he latterly held the post of Head of EMEA Retail Research.

 

Darren has experience in both strategic and site-specific projects with a retail and leisure focus, including market entry studies for retailers, catchment analysis and capacity studies.  His other areas of expertise include economic analysis and GIS/mapping. 

 

His recent work has included an analysis and ranking of UK town centre retail performance and an overview of global retail trends, as well as more consumer and leisure-focused projects.

 

Darren holds a BA in Modern Languages and keeps fit through running and rowing.
